How Can Severe Headaches After A Head Injury Be Treated?

On Sunday I was closing my gate and it hit my head very hard. I didn t realize it hit me that hard but after a couple minutes i was in tears from the pain. The last few days it hurts to chew food and I ve had some bad headaches. Are the headaches and the pain something I should be worried about?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advise.

How old are you??? pain may be due to impact followed by edema of skin or hematoma or injury to the scalp or also rule out intradural or extradural hematoma formation or counter croup injury etc.
Until examination is done it is difficult to say what it is.
Use cold and warm compression, use nsaids for pain relief if symptoms not improved please consult your doctor he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.

Please be assured that you need not worry now. A major risk time for observations is being kept for about 48 hours. Please continue with some analgesic tablets with proper rest and diet. The hit region should be properly given a cold ice sponging to avoid any swelling. Just after the injury ,which I am sure you must have done, be careful to report for any further symptoms.

Hope I have answered your query.
