How Can Severe Migraine And Vomiting Be Treated?

This is the situation as short as I can make it. Lab accident in 2007 caused major damage from C 3-4 all the way down to C 6-7. In 2008 I had C3-4 and C 4-5 fused; the disc were also replaced with my own donor bone. In 2010 the Drs went back in to remove some bone spurs that had formed and to repair C 6-7. Should note here that nothing has been done to address C 5-6 which is completely heirneiated. I also developed RSD after my 1st neck surgery ... confirmed and multi tested at Mayo. Those symptoms come and go. Biggest Issuue over the past year has been severe migraine headaches with nauseau, vomiting, and the quality of life I am missing out on with my only child ... who was an IVF miracle. I have hypothrodisism, RSD, Autonomic Neuropathy, severe anxiety disorder, medical menopause, 11 prior surgeries for endometriosis and ovarian cysts, appendectomy, and a minute pineal cyst. With the weather that South GA sees during this time of the year, I have literally spent all but about 6 days of the past month either hugging a toilet/sink or sunk down in a cold feast her bed with blackout curtains drawn. I’ve thrown up most all of my meds, and am awaiting a call back from my neurologist in the AM. I can’t take over the counter pain aids due to a Tylenol allergy and my beta blocker won’t allow the rest

Neurologist 's  Response
Hi,

Judging from your description medication for chronic neuropathic pain like Amitriptyline, Duloxetine, Gabapentin or Pregabalin and physical therapy are the mainstays of therapy. They should help with the anxiety disorder as well. I wouldn't be surprised if you hadn't tried at least one of those before, but since you do not provide much information of the medications you have tried and failed I am mentioning all of them. However, they are all prescription medication so your neurologist will have to prescribe them.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
