How Can Severe Pain After Tooth Extraction Be Treated?

Hi.. My wife has gone through tooth extraction where 2 teeth (wisdom tooth) got extracted together today in 1 hour long process. She got few stitches as well post surgery in gums. Dentist recommended TRAMAZAC (similar to TRAMADOL I guess) for severe pain. But even after 2 hours of taking tramazac, there is hardly any relief in pain. Can I give her Combiflam as earlier before surgery, combiflam worked good for her in tooth ache. Additionally, she has been prescribed AUGMENTIN 625 and PAN D as well.

Hi,

As per your complain pain after wisdom tooth extraction is not a normal finding and it occurs due to inflammation to the soft tissues caused during the procedure causing pain and swelling. In case if Tramazac is not working then you can give Combiflam or a combination of Hydrocodone and Acetaminophen.

Along with it do cool compresses over the cheek. Take a soft diet. You should also continue Augmentin and Pan D. In case if the symptoms does not improve then consult an Oral Surgeon and get evaluated.

Hope this helps. Let me know if I can assist you further.
