How Can Severe Pain Due To A Fractured Forearm Be Treated?

Hi, My sister had a broken forearm 6 weeks ago, age 52 with family history of osteoporosis, osteopenia. The doctor did not put it in a cast but did use a brace. P.T. has caused increased pain, keeps her awake at night. She has a job as a tractor-trailer driver-very strenuous job where accuity and physical agility is important. P.T. told her pain was in her head. Doctor wants to send her back to work. She doesn t feel ready to work that job. It is swollen, and there is no range of motion of the hand downward. What should the next step of treatment or testing be?
