How Can Severe Pain In The Abdomen Be Treated?

I have had acute pancreatitis in the past and today I have had some pain in the area of my stomach or pancreas. Early this morning I was sick with diarrhea and felt dizzy. I have felt fine all day but all of a sudden have this pain in the area like the time I was in the hospital with acute pancreatitis. Is there anything I can take to help with pain or help this go away.

Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Noted the history and understood your concerns.
Since you are a known patient of pancreatitis and the pain is mimicking the one you have had in past when you were admitted, the area is is in stomach and pancreas region this should be taken as an attack of pancreatitis unless proved otherwise. Certainly there is not much that you can do at home, at the most you can take painkillers if you have in stock and have been advised or prescribed in past.
I would advise you to go to ER or nearby hospital and get admitted as you may need intravenous fluids, painkillers and supportive medications.
Also needed is keeping yourself nil orally as this helps to sedate the gastrointestinal system.
Get in touch with the Gastroenterologist as you have another chance to see if there is any primary reason like gall stones, or sphincter of Oddi dysfunction that is amenable to surgical management by ERCP or otherwise.
Get an upper GI Endoscopy to see if there is any ulcer in stomach or duodenum that can mimic the symptoms.
