How Can Severe Pain In The Ankle Be Treated?

I had inbone total ankle replacement surgery on Sept. 21,2016. I am now starting my second week of weight bearing. I have been doing muscle exercises and walking with and without my protective boot. The pain seems extreme, (worse than pre surgery). Is there anything you can recommend to lighten the pain or speed up recovery time? Thanks, John

Thank you john for your question
Post surgery pain is not uncommon however the pain should be less and going down with time.
may be there may be something which went wrong during surgery. It's better to consult your doctor now did the surgery for check up
For the pain it's better to take pain killers to reduce the pain.
Do the simple a anterior posterior x ray with MRI to check bone structure and alignment.
Confirm if there is any infection around the surgery area. the sutures not in place
