Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I was pulling weeds in my flower bed a couple of days ago. I pulled the weed and my knee went into my chest, after I did that I had never felt pain like that before. It hurt so bad I thought I was having a heart attack, I also had to catch my breath. Is there anything that I can do to help with the pain?
Hello, Welcom to Healthcaremagic.com, It seems that because of the forceful strike, either there is hairline fracture happened in your rib or intercostal muscle spasm. In both the cases there is no need to worry. You need to visit an orthopedic spacialist and get a chest X Ray done to rule out fracture. In both the cases you need rest because both these conditions need more rest then medication. You can also take Accelofenac 200 mg twice daily for pain management and better healing. Hope you will be healthy soon.
