How Can Severe Pain In The Joints Indicate?

I recently started using Turmeric, I m 61 and workout 3-4 days a week and was told this might help with recovery and help with joint pain. I have noticed that after sex my discharge seems to have a slight tint that is the same color as the pills I m taking. I have not noticed it my urine however. Is this a side effect or something else.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

In elder patients, joint pain is usually due to osteoarthritis. For proper diagnosis, get an x-ray knee joints done. Consult orthopedic doctor with knee x-rays.

Till then:
- Take tablet Diclofenac 50 mg for pain relief as and when required, not more than twice daily.
- Apply hot compression.
- Do physiotherapy exercises for muscle strengthening.
- Avoid full knee flexions.

If you are overweight, then kindly cut down to normal range according to your height.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Hiren Hirpara
