How Can Severe Pain In The Knees And Back Be Treated?

YYYY@YYYY My mother takes Norco for pain. She takes the strongest of the three possible strengths. The Norco helps take the edge off of the pain slightly, but a lot of the time she is in severe pain. She is 93 and it is a quality of life issue. Otherwise she is in good health ie, heart, no cancer, diabetes etc. just terrible cervical, knee, and back arthritis pain. I was going to speak with her doctor, but wondered of there is any pain meds that would be stronger that can be taken in pill form? when my father had hospice for cancer he was given a liquid form of morphine and despite having bone cancer was pain free. I just wish there was some form that could work for her and allow her be able to do some everyday things like go outside and sit on patio, or be able to get out of bed for longer than 30 min at a time.
