How Can Severe Pain In The Lower Abdomen Be Treated?

I fell over on Wednesday quite badly hitting the floor mostly on my left side and my back. The whole of my left side is in an incredible amount of pain and I keep getting what feels like terrible period pains but mostly on my left side of my lower tummy ( I m not on my period) . Since the fall I have found it very hard to poo. It won t all come out when I do finally go and it hurts a lot when I try to.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Hitting on left side may injured left iliac bone and left ribs.

Also possible that injury to the left flank like blunt trauma.

please get scan abdomen to know about the condition of ureter and colon etc..

To rule out soft tissue injury. You may take temporary pain relieving medication like Tramadol before going to the doctor.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
