Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
How Can Severe Pain In The Shoulders And Knees Be Treated?
I have chronic pain due to: Fibromyalia, osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and currently take a narcotic, prednisone, and alive My rheumatologist recommended an antidepressant. I am not depressed but I am in constant pain. I need shoulders and both knees plus a Laminectomy in last July. Can you help me?
Your symptoms seem to be related more with rheumatoid arthritis. Some advice that I can give to you is:
-take painkillers, you can use Ibuprofen. If needed you can take prescribed opioids
-use cold compresses
-you can also take antidepressants.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi,
General & Family Physician
