How Can Shin Bruising With A Knot, Swelling And Pain Be Treated?

So about 6 weeks ago my daughter was playing around and hit the top of her shin on the corner of the cabinet. It swelled, was very bruised, but she was able to walk around on it. Now, there is a huge knot which has not gotten any smaller and my daughter says it hurts. What should i do?
