How Can Shingles Be Treated?

my husband has been diagnised with shingles. It is on his forehead, near his eye. He has taken a course of antibiotics and the rash has diminished except for one lesion which is not covered by a scab, but is rather a large red bump with some white fluid in the center. I put neosporin on it. is that o.k.? His main symptom now is extreme fatigue.
