General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Usually, shingles will last up to 3 weeks. So, if the skin rash has become worse and unbearable, I highly recommend to consult with your physician or dermatologist. You might need prescription antivirals orally and apply anti-viral cream locally.

For the moment, I advise to apply Calamine lotion to ease itching, and take anti-histaminic you find over the counter. Do not scratch the rash area to avoid further spread.

Wish fast recovery. Let me know if you have any other concern.

Regards.
