How Can Shortness Of Breath And Sore Throat Be Treated?

I was looking for some answers My daughter is 29 years old and suffers from asthma and allergies and just this past 8 days she has had an extremely swollen and sore throat. she ahs shortness of breath and uses her inhaler. She went to a doctor yesterday and the swabbed her for strep but must wait til Monday for the results come in. she is miserable. She has been gargling with warm salt water and taking benedryl but I was hoping to see if there was something else we may be missing
