How Can Shortness Of Breath Be Treated?

I ve been very short of breath since about 6 am. It s now about 11 pm. My aunt, a former respiratory therapist says I should go to the emergency room but I don t want to go there and have it be nothing. I can t run to the emergency room for every little thing. What should I do?

Hello,

In my opinion, you should get done ECG, 2d echo and stress test to rule out a cardiac cause for your shortness of breath.

If all these are normal then get done chest X-ray and PFT (Pulmonary Function Test) to rule out lung causes. You may need cardiac drugs or inhalers formula treatment based on reports.
