How Can Sinus Problems, Vertigo With Excessive Phlegm Be Treated?

Hi, this question if for my 94 year old dad who is blind. He lives in Edgefield, S.C. and had been seeing a eye ears and nose specialist in Augusta, Ga. He is having sinus problems and vertigo. He has had a spray at one time and now he is on a pill, but has a serious problem with having to spit the phlegm that hangs in his throat often. Do you think the two have anything to do with the other? The vertigo isn t new but he had not had problems for approximately a year. Does he need a sinus specialist? What would you suggest for him? I m his daughter, Julia, who lives in Maryland and need some help to give him relief. Thank you for responding.

General Surgeon 's  Response
HI.
This looks to be due to Sinusitis and may be development of the polyp which is hanging in the throat.
He need to see an ENT Specialist for ENT Endoscopy and CT scan of the sinuses to know the exact extent.
Since he is 94 years and is blind it will be better to keep him admitted in a Hospital for a few days care, suction, and sort of care along with proper treatment according to the findings.
