How Can Sinusitis Along With Ear Congestion Be Treated?

I ve had an upper respiratory infection that became a sinus infection, cough lots of congestion lingering for 3 weeks now. I was on amoxicillian for 10 days and I am slowly getting better, but now my ears have been plugged for 5 days. Will this go away or should I go back to my doctor? Thanks

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

It is commonly noted that sinusitis and ear infections occur hand in hand often. Now, since you have completed your course of antibiotics, you don't need any more of that.

You could try Oxymetazoline nasal spray or drops. This will help clear your nose and your eustachian tube. This will help clear your ears. These sprays are availble in most pharmacies over-the-counter.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Pranav Balakrishnan
