How Can Skin Burn On The Face Be Treated?

Gee, thanks! Wasn t expecting this...last night my 75 year old husband tossed a long fluorescent or incandescent bulb into the garbage outside, and it exploded. He felt nothing. Later last night he looked in the mirror and saw that the side of his face over his left eye was burned in large patches. He felt no pain and still does not! I was out of town and just returned. 5pm. It looks awful and has some bruising very near his upper eye lid. He wiped some neosporin on it and is just ignoring it. It looks nasty and I want to take him to the urgent care. Any thoughts
