How Can Skin Irritation After An Insect Bite Be Treated?
Our son has a bee allergy. He uses an epipen for serious episodes. However, he was bitten 24 hours ago and I have just realised that his skin has started to peel off. He has been terribly lethargic all day and has slept a lot. He is extremely irritable and just not feeling well. He is 10 years of age.
My treatment advice is: 1. Don't scratch the lesion as it may worsen the condition. 2. Apply a mild antibiotic plus steroid cream like Fusiderm-B cream twice daily on it. 3. Take an antihistamine medication like Levocetirizine twice daily for 7 to 10 days. 4. Other treatment options are oral antibiotics and oral steroid taken only after consulting a dermatologist.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
