How Can Small Squamous Cell Cancer On The Nose Be Treated?

Hello I was diagnosed with a small squamous cell cancer on the nose. The ulcer cite is small but there is a feeling of a raised bump spreading from there towards my cheek. can this be a root that is much larger than the original non raised tumor or is it some other structure. The cancer has been slow growing and was considered non invasive within the biopsy margins.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Squamous cell carcinoma is treated by surgical excision with negative margins (no tumor in the resected margins). My question is how was it diagnosed? Was it done either by biopsy or by clinical alone? Carcinoma itself is invasive, and non invasive terminology won't stand.

Definitely carcinoma is invasive and slowly growing. Sometimes, it appears as raised and irregular edges like verrucous carcinoma (a variant of squamous cell carcinoma with better prognosis).

Are there any lymph nodes draining in that area, if yes then treatment will vary.

My suggestion: Please consult surgical oncologist for more suggestions and management.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Siddartha
