How Can Smoking Pot Affect A Surgery?

How long before surgery should I stop smoking pot and how long after should I wait before smoking it again. I'm having an external polyp removed and a hemoroidectomy where they staple inside. How will smoking pot affect me being put under and healing after surgery?

Cannot say without a direct exam BUT.
with cigarette smoking, although you shouldn't smoke around surgery, the lungs don't recover very fast at all. There is healing after quitting, but it is over 1-2 YEARS and very little changes in 1-2 weeks. HOWEVER, incentive spirometry builds up the lungs in 1-2 weeks. Consider learning how to use INCENTIVE SPIROMETRY. If someone Does have lung disease, treating it helps that day!
Hope this helps
