How Can Sneezing And Cold Be Treated?

Hi, i am having an awful time with sneezing, runny nose, watery eyes, and feel just miserable. The common cold medicines with antihistamine in them in them I cannot take, because I seem to be allergic to it. Is there anything else I can take to relieve this miserable stuff? I have been drinking Emergen-C fairly heavily. Thanks!

Hi,

Your symptoms of a runny nose, watery eyes, sneezing seems to be due to Allergic Rhinitis.

It can be due to a number of causes like an allergic reaction to animal dander, dust, pollen grains, mites, trees, grasses etc.

Anti-allergic medicine is first-line treatment but if you are allergic to it consult an Emergency Room and get evaluated.

A steroid shot can help in improvement. Along with OT decongestants can be given like Xylometazoline nasal sprays. Do steam inhalations. Avoid exposure to dust and pollutants.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
