General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I understand your concern.
Snoring is the vibration of respiratory structures while sleeping, which results in a sound due to obstructed air movement during breathing.
Obstruction in the nasal passageway is one of the cause for snoring, which is evident in you based on the endoscopic findings.
Obstruction to the air movement in your case is due to deviated nasal septum and presence of a growth called spur. This would be aggravated by the presence of allergic rhinitis.
What remedy has been suggested by your doctor to get operated by means of spetoplasty and turbinate reduction under general anesthesia seems to be logic and proper.
Kindly go ahead with the suggestions what has been given by your treating doctor and do the necessary follow-up as advised.
Post-operatively, you may have to stay for a day under observation. Average cost of the operation is Rs.40,000. Outcome of endoscopic septoplasty seems to be better and has several advantages when compared with conventional septoplasty procedure.
Hope the information provided would be helpful.
All the best.
Regards,
