How Can Sore Throat Along With Fever, Cough And Cold Be Treated?

I came down with sore throat, coughing, intermittent runny nose, coughing either loose or tight, slight fever, fatigue, ears feel like being plugged over a week ago. The over the counter meds aren't working went to doctor and they prescribed the Z pal. Is there something more I can do to get rid of the symptoms. Doctor thinks it's a virus

Hi Dear,

Understanding your concern. As per your query you are having symptoms of sore throat along with fever, cough and cold which could be due to viral pharyngitis and mainly due to increased susceptibility of your body to get infected due to poor immunity. I would suggest you to do warm saline gargles or beta-dine gargles 2-3 times a day and start vitamin C tablet for 10 days. Taking steam twice a day will be very important. You should take combination of Ibuprofen and Acetaminophen. Visit ENT specialist once and get it examined if symptoms keeps on persisting. Doctor may order throat swab test along with blood culture test and treat accordingly. Keep sipping warm water. Drink hot milk along with pinch of turmeric.
