How Can Sore Throat Along With Sinus Infection Be Treated?
I was sick with a sore throat and a bad sinus cold for two weeks, the cold and sore throat have cleared up but now I have a feeling of a lump in my throat and to talk or smile makes my front of my neck ache. If I touch at the same spot as were the Adam s apple would none it is very sensitive. Also the cord on the right side of my neck is sensitive
Sore throat and sinus infection needs to be treated by means of antibiotics and decongestant medications. What lump you are feeling in the throat could be due to enlarged adenoid tissue or tonsils.
Kindly do the following supportive measures to overcome the same:
1. Do salt water gargling with warm water thrice daily.
2. Take steam inhalation twice daily.
3. Use medicated lozenges as and when necessary.
4. Avoid intake of ice-cream and cool drinks.
Gradually, you should get better and be back to normal.
Consult an ENT specialist for further evaluation and management, if you do not get better even after taking the above measures.
Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Ashakiran S,
General & Family Physician
