How Can Sore Throat And Poor Hearing Be Treated?

Hello Doctor, I actually have a soar throats since last 2 days , as I had cold drinks and I Snore while I sleep I sometimes face that my Uvula gets extended and I hear a bit less on my left ear as I believe I snore really hard . Infect I do have bruxism as well and therefore I believe the snorting is too hard . Kindly as vise what would be the best solution .

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of sore throat and poor hearing which are pointing towards upper respiratory tract infection and could be due to eustachian tube dysfunction , which is interrupt hearing.

- Start doing warm saline gargles.
- Take steam inhalation along with vaporizers it will be very helpful.
- Avoid hot, sharp , spicy food. avoid cold beverages.
- Drink one spoon of honey mix with glass of lukewarm water.

I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist for proper examination . Doctor may order throat swab test and blood test to confirm the diagnosis and rule out causes. Doctor may prescribe anti bacterial amoxicillin or anti viral acyclovir depending upon the diagnosis along with decongestants. You should go for laryngoscopy as well.
