General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

I understand your concern.

Sore throat could be due to 2 main issues if no bad teeth:
- strep throat
- acid reflux or other hyperacidity problems of the stomach.

Further tests are recommended to determine the right cause:
- culture of throat for strep infection
- upper endoscopy

Until you get the tests done, I advise to:
- keep good oral hygiene, oral antiseptic can be used
- have your dinner at least 4 hours before going to bad
- brush your teeth frequently
- avoid citric or other foods that would make your symptoms worse
- increase water intake
- gargle with warm water and salt

Hope this helps.
