How Can Sore Throat Be Treated?

Hi I ve had a sore throat for 2 weeks now its not the regular sore throat when you have a cold. When I swallow its like only the left side that it d bothersome. Kinda feels like its swollen inside on that side. Do u have any idea what it could be? I told my pm yesterday he didn t even feel my glands or look down my throat. His answer was theres aloy of bugs going around maybe you just got s tinge of one and its hanging on to you. Told me drink some warm tea and throat lozenges should go away soon. Oh and to quit smoking. Wat a waste for mentioning that concern.

Hello,

As per your query, you have a symptom of one-sided sore throat mainly left which seems to be mainly due to tonsil infection. It could be a bacterial infection, and poor oral hygiene leading to strep throat. Need not to worry. I would suggest you take ibuprofen and proper course of antibiotics such as azithromycin for three days to subside infection and pain. Avoid sharp and spicy food substances. You should take anti-inflammatory medications as well. Do warm saline rinses several times a day. Avoid intake of cold beverages and take steam inhalation. Consult ENT specialist once for proper examination if symptoms keep on persisting. The doctor may order a blood test or throat swab test to confirm the diagnosis.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
