How Can Split Toenails Be Treated?

Hi Doctor, Both of my big toenails are cracked horizontally and the sections of nail are not being pushed off the end of my toes as they grow. They are following the curve of the front of my toe. Is this something I should worry about? Thank you, Dan

hi sir,you have given a detailed description.thank you.your big toenails seem to be affected with onychomycosis.its a fungal infection.predisposing factors are prolonged exposure to moisture,inadequate drying,repeated usage of antiseptics or sanitisers,people with uncontrolled diabetes mellitus,old age.we usually prescribe CICLOPIROX OLAMINE NAIL LOTION.you can go for a dermatologist consultation for confirmation of diagnosis.thank you.take care.bye.
