How Can Stomach Ache After A TURP Procedure Be Treated?

My dad underwent TURP for a second time and cystoscopy for the first time in a matter of 1 month. He has a pipe inserted into his bladder through his penis. There is puss that is cleaned by doctor everyday. It s been 9 days since the surgery and insertion of pipe. My dad is complaining of pain and some pull issue in his stomach. He is in discomfort. Please help me with these two things:- 1) Is puss formation normal? 2) how to alleviate his pain? 3) His reports by far are normal, can the pipe be removed now?

Hi,

1. Pus formation is not normal, it is urinary tract infection. Gets cured with precise course of antibiotics.
2. For pain alleviation, analgesic in form of injection or tablet as per the choice of your doc ( injection is better to avoid further stomach upset which is already there ).
3. Pipe removal is around 7-10 days post TURP depending upon multiple parameters decided by the doc.

Hope I have answered your query.
