How Can Stress And Anxiety During Pregnancy Be Treated?

I am currently 6 weeks pregnant. Have been a heavy medical mariguana user for about 7 years. Due to back pain, lack of hunger and trouble sleeping, stress and anxiety. I stopped as soon as I found out. However, now that I haven t done that my stress, my anxiety, trouble sleeping, back pain and lack of hunger as well as nervous breakdowns have started happening. I guess my question is what should I do about this situation and what should be my next step? I literally cannot sleep and my back is killing me and I am just stressing soooo much. I don t know what to do:( I need an advice and / or opinion even past experiences. Anything is helpful. Thank you so much!

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Avoid unwanted stress and anxiety. Relaxation techniques like yoga and meditation can help a bit.

If symptoms persist better to consult a psychiatrist and get evaluated.

Anti-anxiety meds may be required in that case.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
