How Can Sun Burn And Swelling On The Legs Be Treated?

My daughter just got back from 3 days in Mexico. She has a severe sunburn and swelling. She is fairer skinned but this has never happened before. I am guessing the medication she is taking made her more sensitive. I have read online. The pain is getting better but the swelling in her legs is a lot. So, just trying to make sure we are doing everything possible to treat from home. And at what point do we go to the doctor or hospital. Thank you.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Your symptoms seem to be related to sunburn. I suggest you to use a cold, damp towel on your skin. I also recommend you to use anti-inflammatory medications for the pain such as Ibuprofen three times a day. I also recommend to drink liquids and use a moisturizer for local application.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
