How Can Swelling And Bruising On The Feet Be Treated?

I kicked a thick indoor trash can with my bare foot, the reason probably non sense because I was furious with my husband at the time , my big toe is incredibly sore to any touch. Hard to walk on, swollen, discolored , on top of my foot is some bruising as my toe beside it also. I can t curl my toe , this stiff.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

i can understand your concern. Based on the severity of the symptom, fracture of the toe appears to be a possibility.
Kindly get an Xray of the toe or the foot done. Swollen, dscolored , painfull ,stiff toe indicates inflamation. Do warm water compresses over it.
If a fracture is noticed, depending on the fracture, either a simple toe brace or a surgical correction with k wire would be suggested.
For time being, for relief of pain and relief you can take Diclofenac 50mg twice daily.
Hope i have answered your query.
Thanks for choosing HCM. Wishing you a speedy recovery.
