How Can Swelling And Rashes Around The Ankles After A Yellow Jacket Sting Be Treated?

Hi, I got stung four or five times by yellowjacket wasps eight days ago. After a day or two, the pain seemed to subside but I began to itch. Throughout the week, I developed hives and really awful welts around my ankles and one on my backside (all the sting sites). Now my ankles are swollen and the welts are hard and hot to the touch. I have tried everything - Benadryl in oral and cream form, CortiZone 10, Campho-Phenique, ice, baking soda paste... nada. Any suggestions? Should these be gone by now?

Hi,

As a first line management you can try steroid/antibiotic combination like Betamethasone/Neosporin cream after cleaning with soap and water. If symptoms persist, you can consult a dermatologist and get evaluated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
