How Can Swelling And Redness In The Eyes Be Treated?

I walked into a spider hanging from my ceiling in the garage. I landed on my eyelid just where I eyelashes are in the inner corner of my eye. There seems to be a red spot there and minimal swelling. I think I may have been bitten. I have applied a cold compress. Is there anything else I should do?

Hi there,

You can also try benadryl, which may help with the swelling. I would continue to monitor your symptoms, and if you start to have any worsening vision changes, fevers, chills, or nausea and vomiting, I'd get your eye checked out immediately. At the moment, this doesn't sound like anything to worry about.
