How Can Swelling And Soreness In Ankles Be Treated?

Hello Im a 30 year old female in very good health. 2 weeks ago the bones on my ankles (both sides) was a bit sore. I though it would go away but now my akles are extremely sore and swollen. They are hard swollen, not like edema, and I really don't have any other symptoms. I have not had an injury and have went to the doctor and they seemed very confused.
