How Can Swelling And Soreness On The Knee Be Treated?

Hi about a week ago I was doing soccer try outs,I went in for a tackle and our two knees collided and it felt like my knee gave out it is now bruised sore and very tender, I have ice it elevated it and worn a compression bandage do you recommend a brace to stop my knee from feeling like it is going to give way
