How Can Swelling In The Ankles And Knees Be Treated?

I am treated for high blood pressure and I am having a lot of swelling in my ankles legs and knees. I have had knee replacements in both knees in the last 2 years. No problem with kneed replacement, I am concerned about the swelling in my ankles and legs. I have tried water pills but they only work for a few days and I am swelling again. Is this something I should see my doctor right away?

Hello,

Yes, you are in cardiac failure, CCF. Kindly see your cardiologist and physician and get furosemide prescribed. Bilateral pedal edema is the classical sign of it, I think you should be concerned about it.

Here we cannot examine you fully and give you treatment. Believe you understand the constraints of online medical advice and go for emergency care.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Archana
