How Can Swelling In The Tongue Due To Oral Thrush Be Treated?

My granddaughter was diagnosed with thrush in her mouth on Sunday. The white film in mouth is gone. But tonight her tongue is very swollen that she is slurring words and drooling. She will not eat or drink due to pain. Should she be seen tonight?

Hi.
Welcome to HCM..

As per your complain it seems that swelling of tongue, slurring words and drooling are not appearing to be due to fungal infection as even the white coating is also gone..

It seems to be probably due to allergic reaction that can be due to any food or medication that is compatible to her body..

Yes, she needs to be immediately taken to Emergency Room as if the swelling keeps increasing there can be choking and difficulty in breathing..

As of now try giving her anti allergic like Benadry to help in reducing swelling..

Hope this helps..

Regards..
