How Can Swelling On The Face After Tooth Extraction Be Treated?
Was given prescription of Penicilln V K after tooth extraction. My face swelled up , it still is. I was given 500 MG to take four times a day. My tongue and lips are still swollen. I took 18 pills of this medication and have 10 more pills.Should I continue taking these pills or should I stop.
In brief stop taking antibiotic Penicillin and take anti allergics to reduce swelling..
Swelling on your lips, face and tongue after taking Penicillin is due to allergic reaction to antibiotic Penicillin and not due to the extraction..
At times swelling of tongue can cause difficulty in breathing, swallowing and speaking.. So my suggestion is to first of all stop taking Penicillin and take anti allergics like benadryl to reduce swelling..
Also consult your Dentist and let him change your antibiotics if at all you need more antibiotics.. Also do cool compresses over the cheek and lip..
Hope this helps..
Regards..
