How Can Swelling On The Right Foot After A Stroke Be Treated?

My brother had a mild stroke about a year ago. He has had good recovery and he s now able to get up, feed himself and get around on his own at a slow pace. One thing that has been happening quite often is swelling of his right foot and so he s not able to walk and put pressure on his foot. I hear this is normal for stroke patients? What can be done to reduce and eventually get rid of swelling?

Hi,

I do not think that swelling is normal for stroke patients.
Get assessment for blood pressure etc. or any drug effect.
If no such thing, then get the help of a physiotherapist.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
