How Can Testicle Pain Be Treated?

Hi, my husband wokein the night with a pain in his right testicle. He can't feel a lump and says the pain is more like a bee-sting feeling. He hasn't injured himself in that area. He did play tennis last night & was fine when he came back home & also when he went to bed. Any ideas?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi.
Thanks for your query.
There is a specific history that your husband got the stinging pain in the scrotum on the right side which woke him up. He had played tennis last night.
Hence the possible reasons are a few like:
Actual insect bite.
Torsion of the testis.
This is an emergency and he should be rushed to the ER for clinical evaluation, actual examination and urgent ultrasonography and color doppler examination if the torsion has been suspected.
If this is a insect bite he will get an antihistamine and steroid.
IF torsion he will need an urgent surgery for reversal and saving of the testis.
