I have told that my white blood cell count is 0.8 and that i need iron tablets for a low blood count, however i have been taking iron tablets since last July and although it has improved it appears i am still low, what could be wrong?

Hello, Good to contact us. If I am your treating doctor I would like to tell you that if you are low of iron you should give us the ferritin level or hemoglobin level so we can evaluate your low hemoglobin content and advice you further. I would like to know from you a hemoglobin level of yours? I also want to add to you that iron treatment should be taken for long duration. it will take a month to increase your 0.1 gram of hemoglobin. So in my advice you should continue your treatment and monthly or two monthly test your hemoglobin level. If you have any thing else to ask kindly contact me. Thnx Dr. Arun Tank
