How Can Thigh Pain With Numbness Be Treated?

Hello, The other day I was having extremely painful sharp stabbing pains on the outside of my right thigh, and now the area is completely numb. I checked the area out and it looks completely normal, but I'm very concerned. Would you have any idea what the problem is?
