Hello, I’ve recently been experiencing anxiety in relation to my hair. Let me tell my story. 3 months ago the birth control pill I was on was changed, as in the hormone levels were different from the pill I had been taking for the past 10 years or so. The levels weren’t a huge difference, so I didn’t think much of it. Fast forward, 3-4 months later. I have noticed an all over thinning of my hair. The thinning is not bald spots, in fact by looking, there is not much difference (other people can’t tell). However I can FEEL a difference. I have always shed quite a bit because I have a full, thick head of long curly hair. So, I didn’t really pay attention to if it was considerably more or not. I’ve researched and scared myself a dozen times pertaining to this. My question to you is: do you think the birth control mishap could be to blame for this? I’m unsure how common this is when it pertains to birth control. After noticing the thinning, I immediately called my gyno and got switched back to the pill I had been on for so long. Which brings me to my second question: if it was the hormones that screwed me up in the first place, have I just perpetuated things by going back to the old pill? Will I experience more loss in 3 more months bc of the switch back? I’m worrying myself (stress) sick thinking about it, which only makes it worse. Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thank you, Natalie
