How Can Throat Pain And Chest Congestion Be Treated?

My throat is super painful, i have congestion in my chest and a lot of gooey mucus. I stayed home one week for this and felt great on Monday. By Tuesday I had hot cheeks and maybe fever. I slept from 3:30 pm (after work) until Wednesday 10 am. Today my head is clear but I am sleepy. I am home and take naps. My appetite is zero. I am miserable.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

A sore throat is mostly viral and revolves itself, however, if it stays after 5 days and phlegm is there then it suggests the bacterial infection. So it looks like you have got a bacterial infection like sinusitis and don't wait anymore. It is advisable to go to your doctor so that he can see you and to prescribe you antibiotics if needed.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
