How Can Thumb Numbness With Skin Discoloration Be Treated?

I "cut" my thumb two and a half days ago. I was using a wing corkscrew to open a bottle of wine and I placed my thumb right on one of the wheels and it was caught by a spoke in the downward motion. I've been keeping it bandaged. The skin around the area is a little numb and skin color is slightly pale. Do you have any recommendations about whether or not to seek medical attention? Could this be something to worry about?
