How Can Thyroid Dysfunction And Depression Be Treated?

20 yr old female diagnosed with thyroid issues and depression.on thyroid medicine and Effexor, inability to consistently get up for work,can sleep for hours and hours and hours, distraught over not being able to understand her brain , not being able to decipher what is wrong with her and why she has no answers about what to do about anything.

I can understand your concern.
If your thyroid hormones are not fully controlled, these symptoms are possible.
So first get done thyroid function test (TSH, free T3 and T4).
You may need to increase or decrease the dose of thyroid medication.
Also consult psychiatrist for counseling sessions. Depression needs combination of counseling and anti depressant drugs for symptomatic relief.
Avoid stress and tension, be relax and calm.
Don't worry, you will be alright with all these.
