How Can Tinnitus And Vertigo Be Treated?

I made a fairly quick recovery from vertigo but have a terrible case of ringing in the ear (tinninitis) that is getting worse and not better. I m now starting to get very anxious about this situation and have had to use sleeping pills the last few nights to be able to sleep. This condition has been going on for nearly 2 monrths. Suggetions or help?

Internal Medicine Specialist 's  Response
Hello,

Tinnitus may be due to many causes:
1. Eustachian tube blockage
2. Infection
3. Drugs
4. Mandibular joint abnormalities
5. Meniere's disease
6. Tumors like acoustic neuroma et cetera

So you need to use masking of sound like clock sound or masking devices. If symptoms not improved, please consult your ENT specialist, he/she will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Penchila Prasad Kandikattu
